Sremski Karlovci is a charming and enchanting small town, renowned for its sweet dessert wine, Bermet, which was famously served to the passengers of the Titanic. It is also celebrated for its historic Grammar School.
During our visit, which happened to be around Christmas, we had the pleasure of experiencing a delightful Christmas market in the main square. Here, we enjoyed mulled wine for the adults and popcorn for the kids.
We took the time to explore the town further, visiting the church and the Bee Museum, which, to our pleasant surprise, had a wine cellar with barrels of wine available for tasting, alongside some delicious honey.
Our day concluded with a visit to an authentic restaurant, allowing us to savor the local flavors.
Sremski Karlovci is truly a beautiful and picturesque town, offering a wonderful opportunity to stroll and appreciate its unique and historic architecture.
